Blaze on!

Blaze on! is a 2023 top-down arcade racing game developed by Pixel Inferno. The game focuses on high-speed vehicular combat on procedurally generated tracks. Players control a single vehicle equipped with a forward-firing weapon and a limited-use boost system. The objective is to complete laps while destroying opponent vehicles and avoiding environmental hazards. The game features a single-player campaign with escalating difficulty and a local multiplayer mode for up to four players. Visuals employ a vibrant, neon-drenched aesthetic with a chiptune soundtrack. The game is available on Windows, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5.

Gameplay mechanics center on momentum and resource management. The vehicle accelerates automatically. Steering is controlled with the left analog stick or D-pad. The primary weapon fires a projectile that travels in a straight line; it is activated with the A button (X on PlayStation, Space on keyboard). The boost system, activated with the B button (Circle on PlayStation, Shift on keyboard), provides a temporary speed increase but consumes fuel from a depleting gauge. Fuel is replenished by performing drifts (holding the brake button, Right Trigger or R2, while turning) or by driving over glowing pickups on the track.

Tactical techniques include drift-boosting: initiating a drift and releasing the brake at the apex of a turn to gain a short burst of speed without consuming fuel. Weapon timing is critical; firing at opponents during their drift animation increases the chance of a direct hit. Players should conserve boost for straight sections to maximize distance gained. In multiplayer, drafting behind an opponent (driving directly behind them for two seconds) provides a minor speed bonus and partially refills the boost gauge.
